Default Spanish language variants of Composer and Musician

Hi,

I just want to let you know that we have started a porting of composer 3 and musician 3 to Spanish language. Because of the new software structure of version 3 we can execute this portation independantly with very minimal and limited impact to the software code.
Please feel free to add comments and ideas here. Of course, at some point in time we will ask you who would like to participate in beta trials of the Spanish language variants of Composer and Musician.

We will use this thread to keep you posted on the findings and progress.

Reinhold

Hi,

as part of our approach for a Spanish language version we firstly plan to have a prototype available with a Spanish language user interface but still with the note names C,D,E,F,G.... (Spanish requires do, re, mi fa, ...)

Because many of our Spanish speaking customers may love to use the English note names C,D,E,F, .... (e.g. people in the US or those who use English songbooks), we have a question in this context:

Should we also offer a configurable feature that the notation C,D,E,F,... is still available for Spanish?

If someone of you would comment on that (or send us an email to support@notation.com) it would be very helpful for us going forward.

Thanks

Reinhold

Some more on the Spanish versions:

The Spanish versions of Notation Musician and Notation Composer are nearly completed to start the beta trials. Because of the re-structuring of the software in version 3, the new language could be introduced with almost no impact to the software.

In the last months it has been a pleasure for me to work with Nacho Sendino from Spain on the Spanish version. Nacho is a real software localization professional for the Spanish language. He and his team work on localization of software of any kind for the Spanish and South American markets. As a speciality Nacho does localizations in the area of computer games. With regards to his professionalism please visit the website of his company at www.gamewords.es

But most importantly, Nacho is a great musician, too.

For feedback during our trial he is going to assist us.

Status of Spanish version

The beta trails for the Spanish versions meanwhile run for one month with great success. In order to have the Spanish version immediately available with 3.0.2 we will start with a minimal website first. This minimal Spanish website will offer the Spanish trial versions to download and the full versions to order. Of course, an upgrade from version 2 English language to version 3 Spanish language will be available from the beginning as well.
