Default Lost ext MIDI output module instrument list

I am using Composer since several years and this problem has already happened to me about 2-3 times.
I am using a Korg Personal Arranger (PA800) as an output MIDI module. I have a specific .ins file to list all the instruments & drumkits. It has happened from time to time for reasons unknown to me that these lists have just disappeared. When I try to upload again the .ins file, Composer tells me that they are already loaded. I dont' remember really how, but in previous occasions I have at last succeded to make things work again. I wish to know if there is a precise reason why this happens, how can I avoid it and how can I quickly fix it without any empiricism.

Thank you

Hi, Chickinox:

Under the Setup menu, Midi Device Configuration gives you options to Save and Restore your device configuration(s) from the Config menu.

You can also examine your current config by using Configuration Report To Clipboard and pasting that into a text editor (Windows Notepad). That'll let you see whether your proper config is actually there or not.

When you do get it working, Save a copy under a recognizable name and then you can simply use Restore to call it up.

I don't recall actually losing the configuration at any time on my setup, other than after a system crash or similar. Composer is pretty robust on that front.

Hope that helps.

David

Thank you David for your kind answer.
Probably what has corrupted the configuration was cnnecting to a new external light weighted keyboard (M-Audio Keystation 49) that I wish to use as an input "typewriter". Anyway I wish to find a quick solution, because these problems are really very annoying!
