‘She’s Scattered Everywhere’
Loved this recording of ‘She’s Scattered Everywhere’ (as performed by Archibald, a New Orleans rhythm and blues pianist and singer) so much,
https://youtu.be/Kho6b1VUPsc that I made this transcription of it. (for expression listen to the recording – am not competent to add it in anyway). btw he’s better known for his 1950 hit, ‘Stack-A-Lee’ (a version of ‘Stagger Lee’) https://youtu.be/V-gLCUX13wU |

Re: ‘She’s Scattered Everywhere’
Hi, Peter:
Very nice. I especially appreciate your use of Free Text to place fingering annotations -- that takes work! It reminds me of an old parody of "After The Ball Is Over" that begins: "After the ball is over, Mary takes out her glass eye" and ends: "So, I slept on the chair. There was more of her there. After the ball." Cruel, I know. David |

Re: ‘She’s Scattered Everywhere’
Hi David
Thanks for the compliment – in truth, I’m no naturally gifted pianist who can improvise at will. Almost always after having worked out an arrangement and the finger annotation I forget the entire thing within a few months. So transcription is just my way of being able to pick it up again without a repetition of the initial slog. Usually I love a particular piece and want to play it simply because of the quality of the arrangement – alas piano sheet music is either almost always nothing like what inspired me to want to play the piece in the first place, or is simply unavailable. And no music publisher appears to want consistently to address the gaping void between the two. Peter |
