Default Howdy Joerg, It is possible

Howdy Joerg,

It is possible to use soundfonts within Composer if your sound card is capable of loading soundfonts. For instance, I have a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 sound card, which has two synths for loading numerous banks of soundfonts. SoundBlaster sound cards and a couple of others are capable of loading soundfonts. If you use this method, then you would enter the synths in your sound card as a "device" and each soundfont that you have loaded in that synth as a "bank", and then the instruments within the soundfont as "instrument patch names".

If you don't have a sound card that is capable of loading soundfonts, then you can indeed "save as" a .mid file and then play it through SynthFont.

ttfn,
Sherry
