Harlem Nocturne Duet
"Harlem Nocturne" was written in 1939 by Earle Hagen and Dick Rogers. This is a very advanced part for the Soprano Recorder, but a very rewarding piece to play. The Alto Recorder part is fairly simplistic, but it was kept so as to not detract from the Soprano solo.
If you would like to hear what this song sounds like with a larger group, this arrangement is actually a reduction of my septet rendition at: http://www.notation.com/vb-forum/showthread.php?t=32313 It is rather a game around our house -- whenever I am writing an arrangement for some larger group, my wife Cynthia will ask, "Are we going to have a copy of that song for us?" -- thereby the creation of a number of our duets -- all of which are posted in this Forum.
