Adding notes using the mouse
I'm an absolute newbie, having just bought Notation Composer. I have to do everything with the mouse (don't even know if I can use the computer keyboard?) and I'm finding it very "finnicky" to add notes exactly where I want them. I'm not sure if it's me, my mouse, or what. I'm using a Logitech mouse which usually behaves for me.
I'm not trying to do anything complex — I purchased the software because I can't make it to choir rehearsals in the middle of the week and all I really need to do is lay out the notes for the alto line of an anthem so I can get them fixed in my head. Is it me or is it my mouse?!? Thanks from a newbie. |

Re: Adding notes using the mouse
Hi, Marion:
Welcome to Notation software products. One trick to easier note placement with the mouse is to enlarge the view. Use the magnifying glass + or - icons on the right side of the toolbar to set a view you're comfortable with. The bigger the view, the easier to accurately place notes. There is a bit of a learning curve with Composer, but compared to other similar programs, it's a gentle one. Good luck. David |
