Default Need Help when recording from a keyboard

Hi.

I am not musical at all but my son is and I am trying to help him record a song and see if Notation Composer is something he can use without major assistance.

First song he wants to record....he plays most of the song on the left side of the keyboard and I can not figure out how to separate the hands when the music is generated...they both appear on the bottom staff of the music. His music teacher has told me his song is played in D minor. Any help would be appreciated.
