Default Re: Need help with removing voices or tracks

Howdy,

You can do one of a few options here.

If you just want to silence (mute) the staff when you're playing the file, you can just click the "Mute" button for that staff when you're playing the file (the "green light" Staff Control button). When you save the .not version of the file, the staff will be muted next time around as well.

If you want to totally remove the staff from the file, then you can select the staff you want to delete, and use the Staff/Delete staff command. This will remove the staff from the file, but do note that it will only be from the saved .not version of the file. When you click "File/Save", the filetype that is saved is a .not (NoteSoft, that opens in Notation Software products), not a .mid (MIDI) file. The original .mid file will not be changed, so if you re-open that, it will look and sound just like it did the first time you opened the file.

If you want to save a .mid filetype that does not have the staff in it, then you'll need to use File/Export, and choose "MIDI (.mid)" and save the .mid version of the staff-less song file.

ttfn,
Sherry
