Default Hi Sherry, The Garritan pr

Hi Sherry,
The Garritan product is a great source of realistic sounds.

I have not purchased the 'Jazz & Big Band' as I have been holding out for the day for the 'Group Buy'. However, potential buyers need to be aware they need at least 1GB of memory on their PC, so the software costs is only part of the expenditure.

Composer is a great interface to the Garritan software (and other software like the Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ which I also use). Having an excellant sound source (like Garritan) is one factor in gaining a realistic result, but the quality of the midi file is a critical factor. Garritan, like any other software, is unable 'to make a silk purse out of a sows ear'.

I would encourage serious musicians to consider the Garritan software, but don't regard it as a 'quick fix' - there will be plenty of challenges ahead and lots of work. But Composer & Garritan software provide wonderful tools to greatly assist the dedicated musician to get a high quality result.

Cheers ... Clyde
