Default Swap left hand and right hand instruments

Hi I'm trying to use Notation Player to convert my midi into sheet music so I can print it out. However, my midi has the left hand as 'instrument 1' and the right hand as 'instrument 2'. This means that the left hand notes are displayed above their respective right hand notes instead of below which makes the sheet very hard to read.
eg.
(bass clef) ccde abcd
(treble clef) cbde abcd

instead of
(treble clef) cbde abcd
(bass clef) ccde abcd

Is there any way I can swap the position of the right hand and left hand?

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for trying out Notation Player. Player is intended to function for .not and .mid files in the same way as the Acrobat Reader is intended for .pdf files. It is a "reader only" type of application, not an editor. To switch the staves around (as well as lots of other cool things!) you would need to get Notation Musician (www.notation.com/NotationMusician.htm) You can try it out (free, fully functional 30 day trial) and see how you like it first. We also have a lot of free Tutorial Videos to help you along right here on the Users Forum at http://www.notation.com/vb-forum/for...lay.php?f=2858

Enjoy!
Sherry

Hi,

As Sherry suggests, I highly recommend Notation Musician (and Composer) -- I've been using them since the pre-beta test days and they are my everyday, go-to notation and orchestration tools.

In the meantime, a work-around for your situation might be to use a free-ware midi editor (such as Brel's Midi Editor or one of many others) to re-order the tracks in your file, then re-open it in Notation Player.

Good luck.

David
