Default Free (and excellent) big band - USAF bands

Hi friends,

In my ongoing quest for great music (free helps ), this archive of the Airmen of Note has some great history of this terrific big band, as well as "Audio archives" with low-fidelity free mp3 files (98 kbps), and high-quality "supporting friends" mp3s (320 kbps).

Just click the Audio Archives" link and go from there.

It should be noted that as a military band, the Note does not make "commercial" recordings. You can download their songs at the website above, or any of the US Air Force military bands' recordings that have been digitized (many!) at the main website's 'recordings' page at http://www.usafband.af.mil/recordings/index.asp
You may have to navigate around a bit, but you can get entire albums of music. They used to have a "request an album" page that you could use if you were in education, but I guess the ease of having them all downloadable won out

The Airmen of Note's "Cool Yule" album is really fun - they've taken standards and amalgamated them with popular Christmas songs (eg. "Moonlight Serenade" is meshed with "I'll Be Home for Christmas", to great effect). "Jing, Jing, Jing" is a family favorite here.

Enjoy!
Sherry
