One of my first on Notation (vs cleaning up Cakewalk Scorewriter midis) is from an old fiddle tune 'Soldier's Joy'.
Still don't have the right Soundfonts assigned.<center><table border=1><tr><td>Soldier's Waltz

Hello Geroge,

That's a beautiful tune.

Here's a interesting musical challenge: Study how Copland orchestrated the Simple Gifts tune in Appalachian Spring, and apply similar MIDI orchestral techniques to this Soldier's Waltz. It would be glorious.

Cheers

Default Hi George, Beautiful indeed

Hi George,

Beautiful indeed! I was listening using the Taiji Generation GM (sort of) soundfont, which has oboe for the melody and synth strings for the two chord staves. It sounded beautiful, and a good tempo for evoking a grassy-meadow warm spring day feeling for me

If you decide that you've found the perfect soundfont for your vision, please do let us know. I'd love to hear what you're hearing

ttfn,
Sherry
