Popcorn Duet
"Popcorn" was written in 1969 by Gershon Kingsley. The popular version was recorded by "Hot Butter" in 1972.
This arrangement is a VERY challenging piece. For starters, the tempo is bright and the range is almost two complete octaves. I normally avoid writing this high for the Soprano Recorder, but as most of you will probably be using other instruments and transposing the piece, perhaps the range won't be too much of a problem. The "road map" (qri) is quite busy with a total of ten different endings, with 10 being the Fine. So, this is a complex song to play. However, that said, it is a very cute novelty song, and after the difficulty is mastered, it will be a lot of fun to play. We hope you enjoy it. Ralph Rayner |
