This is probably one of the number one questions that we get asked regarding our software. Converting audio to MIDI is a very difficult technical task, even for single notes. As you've found already, getting the pitches and rhythms both correct in the MIDI file is not particularly reliable yet. A lot of developers have put in many many hours trying to get such a conversion to work. We have a page at

If you're playing the piano, you might want to consider getting (or using, if you already have one) a MIDI keyboard so that you can record your songs directly into Notation Composer via MIDI input. You can then "clean up" the recording and have your sheet music right there. Tim Fatchen (among others) is really good at this technique (you can check in the Share Your Music section of the forum to see some of his posts and songs.) I have zippo keyboard skills, but using Composer even I can bang out the rhythms properly and then adjust the note pitches to get sheet music
