Default I'm Getting Sentimental Over You Duet

This month, the two songs featured are in the genre of “Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass”. Both songs are essentially reductions of Alpert’s arrangements. I don’t know if Alpert was the original arranger.

This song, “I'm Getting Sentimental Over You”, was written in 1932 by George Bassman and Ned Washington, and was first made popular by band leader/Trombonist Tommy Dorsey.

The Soprano part is essentially Alpert’s lead Trumpet part. The Alto part adds some harmonies and counter play. The Coda includes the interlude that Alpert uses for a key change for the Trombone solo, but finishes with a redux of the ending phrase of the song.

If you would like to see the chords, you can use the Composer command qscn to display them. I did not include the lyrics, as they don’t really match up with the rhythms of the horns.
