Hi, guys:
There seems to be an issue with the "Replace note and rest with staccato note" feature (R-dot).
Please look at bars 14 through 17 of the attached .not file.
The treble staff of the piano part contains a series of 1/8th note chords I'd like to make staccato.
It seems that Composer gets confused when a bar contains multiple possibilities of auto-staccato-ization, to coin a term.
If I select just the chord on beat one of bar 14, and use the R-dot command, the result is not a staccato quarter-note chord, but an eighth-note chord with a staccato mark and one note expanded to quarter-note value.
E.G. the first chord in bar 14 is an Ab chord. R-dotting it will give a chord consisting of 1/8-note Ab, 1/4-note Eb, 1/8-note C.
Selecting the whole bar, which has two possible R-dot situations, results in the mixed chord above on beat one and a properly staccato-ed chord on beat 3.
Same result in bar 15, BUT!
Bar 16, which has a chord on beat three that has already been staccato-ed, results in proper notation after the R-dot command is used.
BUT!
Bar 17, which has a non-staccato chord on beat three, results in the odd mixed note length chord described.
I believe it has to do with the mix of rests of different values, as placing a temporary note on beat two of the faulty bars will result in proper R-dotting of the first chord.
Might already be on the "to-do" list, but I've been doing a lot of staccato on this piece so I'm a little grumpy about having to work around it.

By the way, this piece is for a new musical adaptation I'm doing of Aristophanes Lysistrata, a 2,400 year old Greek comedy that's as up-to-date and modern as today's headlines. Think of snappy, sassy chorus girls in Greek robes while you listen to it.
