Default Re: Can I record the notations with a tenor saxophone?

Hi, Ecastro:

Notation software creates its notation through live midi input (from a midi keyboard or similar midi input device), through manual input (using the ASCII keys, a midi keyboard or a combination of both) or through import of midi files (.mid format)

It doesn't have the ability to create notation from audio input, either live or an audio (.wav) file.

There are a number of programs out there that have some limited ability to do so and your monophonic solo sax would be a prime candidate for them. They range from freeware to expensive and from terrible to not bad. None are perfect and all require lots of editing to clean up and make useable.

Search for "audio to midi".

Once you create a midi file from the audio input, you can then import the midi file into your Notation product and create the notation.

Good luck,

David
