Lyrics adjustment to melody

Hello, I'm currently working on a SATB arrangement. I'm finding a little difficult to adjust the syllables of the lyrics under the specific notes. Then when the lyrics reach the last measure on a given page and they should continue on to the next page, that particular syllable or word goes of the measure and into the margin of the page. When I try to regroup then the lyrics already written, I loose the alignment with the given notes. I hope I'm communicating the problem correctly.

Hi,

Probably the file itself, and a description of which lyrics should go with which syllables, would be most helpful. It sounds like either you might be using Free Text (Text/ Free text) for lyrics rather than using the dedicated Lyrics entry (Text/Lyrics), or that you may have multiple syllables in a single Lyric Text editing block. Seeing the file you're working with will help us figure it out :)

ttfn,
Sherry

Re: Lyrics adjustment to melody

Hi, I solved the adjustment of the lyrics to the notes. After a period of mounting frustration I decided to try "L" instead of "F". Sure enough, Lyrics adjust the lyrics to the notes the same way you fix tabs in a wordprocessor. So, although the Freely mode is easier, if you want the lyrics to conform to your notes, the "L" option is the way to go:)
