Making the middle of a measure visible

I'm usually notating songs with a 4/4 measure and I would like to make the second beam of that measure visible automatically, e. g. if I put a quarter note on the first beam and a half note on the second (and third) one, the half note should be splitted into 2 quarter notes (or if I put a dotted quarter note on the first beam, the following quarter note should be shown as to two eighth).

Is there any way to achieve this?

Hi,

This is the first request for this that I recall - usually it's folks asking for the other way around (collapsing ties :) ).

There is not currently not a "default" that you can set to have such tied splits happen automatically all the time. You can enter the two splits that you want (eg. two quarter notes) and then add a tie to them using the Note/Ties palette tool.

ttfn,
Sherry
