importing new track into project

I want to import or copy a track from one .not project to another. I created a new staff and figured I could open the part in the project I want to get the track from, select all and copy and paste into the new staff in the other project but that does not work. I also tried saving the part as a midi file thinking I could somehow import into the new staff - no joy. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks for the help.

Actually this method should work as follows:
(FileMASTER.not is the file to paste into and will contain all the staves, FileCOPYFROM.not is the one you're copying from.)
1. Open FileMASTER.not and the FileCOPYFROM.not that you created as mentioned above.

2. In FileCOPYFROM.not, click the Staff Select button (or use Region/Select) to highlight the staff (light blue).

3. Now either use Edit/Copy OR the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C to copy that staff to the computer clipboard.

4. Now in FileMASTER.not, click the "target" staff's (staff you want to paste into) Staff Select button to highlight that staff (light blue).

5. Either use Edit/Paste OR the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V to paste the copied staff into the target staff.
That should give you the FileCOPYFROM staff now in the FileMASTER song file.

If not, please send me copies of both files and I'll take a look at them.

ttfn,
Sherry
