Unable to remove bass clef

I have notatation musician 2.6.3. I have a midi whose melody track shows up as bass clef. I convert it to treble clef and the entire melody track appears in musician as treble clef. I bump up the melody instrument by one octave to make it playable on a keyboard. I export the project as midi and put the midi on a thumb drive. I load the midi on a Yamaha psr s770. The 770 can display the score. The score shows up with the first measure in treble clef and all others as bass clef. Does anyone know what might cause this and is there a trick to fix this?

Re: Unable to remove bass clef

Hello, Howard:

Exporting the file to a .mid format means that you will lose any graphical musical symbols that you've added to the .not version of the file.

A midi file contains only non-graphical information about the music: tempo, time signature, note values and lengths, velocity, etc. It has no information about the graphical display of the notation.

When you load the .mid file into your Yamaha, it is then the decision of the Yamaha's software to interpret the notes as you describe it.

It has, unfortunately, nothing to do with Composer.

Hope that helps.

David
