The Lord's Prayer Duet

"The Lord's Prayer" is a very beautiful song of the Christian faith written by Albert Hay Malotte in 1935. There are many wonderful recordings of it on You Tube. I had a difficult time finding a score for starters. I was quite surprised by the time signatures. I've listened to the song hundreds of times over my years and I was quite surprised to find that there were any time changes at all. I had never tried to analyze it in mind and I had never seen written sheet music for it. One score I found had measures 18-27 in 9/8 time. I found another score that had the same measures in 3/4 time and I felt the melody flowed better to my ears. Then, measures 28-34 are in 9/8 time, finishing in 12/8 time. A player learning to read should not be daunted by the time changes - the tempo is slow.

If you would like to see the lyrics or the chords, you can use Composer commands to display them: for lyrics use qsl; for chords use qscn.
