NAMM 2011 has opened its doors

Probably one of the most important music trade shows in USA has opened its doors today.

Just google for "NAMM 2011" and enjoy a fantastic ride in the lands of new gear... ;)

Yeah, the Matrixsynth site is swamped with new stuff. Pretty drool-worthy.

And, me stuck with only 8 sets of keys within arms' reach. Plus all the rest in other rooms, of course.

All the new apps for iPod and iPad are the big news. We computer/hardware dinosaurs should get our own museum.

Oh, well, I'll just have to try to make music with the antiques I own. ;)

Here, here! Me, too :)

There will always be lots of cool toys that have nice features, but "the music's the thing!"

That's true.

However better gear can make live easier. ;)

I am observing keyboards for long as I'd like something compact and powerful. Still very few have some (simple looking) properties I am after for long.

One is "seamless sound changes". Actually there are very few keyboards or rack mounts that can do this without a lot of planning and programming - time missing for inspiration, jamming and just playing...

One of the most interesting news to me is Korg's Kronos Workstation. However I am not an early bird in purchasing such things any more. I want to know more than actually published. Probably it's also too expensive for me at all...

Anyway - I find looking at news interesting as that's for free, except the time it consumes... :D
