Jubilation - Septet

"Jubilation" was written by Julian "Cannonball" Adderly, somewhere in the 1957-58 timeframe. It was recorded on March 6, 1958 by the "Cannonball" Adderly Quintet on the EmArcy LP "Cannonball's Sharpshooters" (MG36135). You can hear it on You Tube, if you are interested.

I created this arrangement for a Berklee classmate of mine, who has a play-for-fun septet. I only claim a "re-orchestration" for this piece, because the arrangement is Cannonball's, as the lead lines are what Cannonball and his brother Nat play, and the trombone and bari pick up the piano and bass lines, except of course where I have made some sections 4-way voicings (I will lay claim to that). It's a fun chart with interesting chord progressions.

Section E through the end of G is bypassed in playback mode, as there is nothing to hear there.

Re: Jubilation - Septet

I played this today and I realized that I had the tempo set way too fast. I changed a quarter note = 190 to a quarter note =170 and reposted the arrangement. RRR
