chord names incorrectly displaying
1 Attachment(s)
I have a problem where I am entering a C Min chord, but once I enter the chord it displays as a F Min. If I edit the chord, once in edit mode the chord displays correctly as C Min.
Here is the file that I'm working with. I'm I just tired and I possibly did something silly? TIA. Doug |
Re: chord names incorrectly displaying
Howdy Doug,
Thanks for posting the file - that's always helpful! The Staff/Show Instrument Transposed Pitches was "on" for this file. Since the staff is transposed to a G instrument (use Staff/Transpose Instrument Key to check and/or change if necessary) then the Cmin in concert pitch was showing as Fmin in the transposed staff. To show concert pitch (Cmin), you can use Staff/Show Concert Pitch. (I always find it easier to do my composing in concert pitch, and then transpose the notation for other players. But that's probably because I don't play any transposing instruments :) ) ttfn, Sherry |
Re: chord names incorrectly displaying
Thanks Sherry for the quick response. I had a misunderstanding of the transposition, thinking it was a one-time process and not an on-going situation. I reversed it out and converted by pitch. Everything looks good now. Thanks again.:D
