Part List Selection Changes Octave

In a score based on the Recorders SATB template, selecting the soprano part from the part list results in lowering that part by an octave compared to viewing the part in the Conductor's Score.

I entered the parts using Conductor's Score view. Selecting the Alto part does not change that part's octave, whereas selecting the Soprano part does. I suspect this is by design. If so, is there a work around that would display only the soprano part as entered?

Hi, docEdock:

The soprano recorder is a transposing instrument (as is the great bass -- or simply bass -- recorder). Its notes are written an octave below where they sound, otherwise they would be almost entirely written on ledger lines above the staff, making it difficult to read.

If you want to see concert pitch, simply pull down the Staff menu and select "Show concert pitch" or type "qscp". You'll see the notes as sounded. To go back to transposed pitch, simply type "qsip" or use the "Show instrument transposed pitch" item in the Staff menu.

Hope that helps.

David

Thanks for the tip. QSIP did the trick.
