Composing for Acoustic Guitar
I am attempting to write some short pieces for Acoustic Guitar. Since I have not done this before, I looked to a few commercial examples and noticed that for instance the writer could write a whole not lets say on the E of the first line and in that same bar filled it with 8th notes. For this particular piece then, the E would be played and sustained serving a bass purpose and the rest of the notes would be the melody. When I attempted to do this with Composer, it started subdividing the whole note and adding slurs to achieve the same result of only one sustained sound for the E. Am I missing something or doing something incorrectly? I selected "guitar" at the beginning. Thank you!

Re: Composing for Acoustic Guitar
Hi,
You'll want to use Lower voice for the bass notes, and Upper voice for the others. You can see a video in this thread that includes setting the voice for entering or selected notes, or use the Index in Help/Users Guide to look up "voice". Looking forward to hearing it when you're done :) ttfn, Sherry |

Thank you Sherry! I went and view the tutorial and of course I will probably need to view it at least one more time, but I got the idea! This program is absolutely fabulous!
Thanks:) |
