Syncopated Tune sounds a littel rough, need help

1 Attachment(s)
I tried to syncopate a simple tune.

I defaulted as all durations as noted.

The B Part sounds good with short repeated scales.

The A part sounds rough as it transitions from a Dotted 1/4 to an 1/8 of the same note.

I played with durations but could not get it to smooth out.

Any tips to make it transition smoother?

All measures that repeat the same 3 notes with Dotted 1/4 followed by 1/8 have the issue.

Thanks.

File is attached.

Hi, mswlogo:

It sounds to me as though the pitch bends are interfering with the smoothness. They are making it sound as if there are additional iterations that aren't actually there. As the Prince said to Mozart, "Just get rid of a few, then it'll be perfect."

Well played, by the way, as it is obvious that the bends were done in real time and that kind of Stephane Grappelli fiddle stuff is hard to do.

Choose Graph Over Notes (TM) and Pitch Bend (note with wavy line icon) to view the pitch bend information, then edit it as you like.

Good luck.

David
