This piece is written for Soprano Recorder and Alto Recorder. Some of the pieces in this series are in keys that you might not see a lot in learning pieces. This was intentional to keep the Soprano part in the lower register. Play along with Notation Composer or print the piece for playing with your friend(s). Please feel free to change the instruments and/or keys to suit your personal needs. RRR

"The Last Waltz" was written by Barry Mason and Les Reed in 1967 and was a major hit for popular singer, Engelbert Humperdinck. This arrangement follows the way that Englebert performed this song fairly closely, with the exception of the intro, which closely aligns with the "feel" of the song. The (2x only) direction in measures 16 & 17 tells you to play these notes only the second time through the repeat. This is because of the change in the lyrics at this point, and there's no easy way to tell Notation Composer to do this. The first and third time through this section, you should play the tied half-note in measure 16 as a tied dotted half-note to fill the open space.

My wife Cynthia and I enjoy playing this piece. We hope you will too.
