My choir director likes me to add "complimentary" or "reminder" sharps, flats or naturals to notes where they are technically not require for accurate notation. For example, an E-flat is altered to a natural (in the key of E-flat) in one measure but returns to a flat (as in E to E-flat in the key of E-flat) in the next measure, he might want the flat added to the note. Notation Composer doesn't seem to allow me to add this flat. Is there a work-around?

Hi Bill,
I might have misunderstood you but I think you want to see 'accidentals'.
In the "Format" menu, select "Display Pitch names in note heads".
Tick the "Show Accidentals" and, probably, you want to unselect all the listed staves.
And click okay.
Now you'll see sharp/flat/natural signs in brackets as reminders.
Hope this helps.

Bill -- if you want just individually selected notes to have what I call a "courtesy reminder", select a note and do one of the three following actions:

1) type "ca" -- which I think stands for c(ommand) a(ccidental), or
2) type "(" -- shortcut for ca, or
3) left click on the shadowed pair of parentheses in the Note Pallet

The result will be a display of whatever the proper accidental is, within a pair of parentheses, for only that note. Repeat as needed for other situations.

Hope this helps.

Yep, the word I needed was "accidentals" - just drew a block on it. Did the above - just what I needed.
