When you open Notation Player 2.6.3, an initial Options page appears. This Options page usually can't be closed and always appears as a tab on the left side of Notation Player. However, you can sometimes use the File -> Close command to close the Options page. This can cause Notation Player to generate an "Internal Program Error" and sometimes freeze.

For example:

1. Open a file in Notation Player 2.6.3.
2. Click the Options tab.
3. In the menu bar, select File -> Close. The Options page will close.
4. Open another file, for example by using File -> Open, or File -> recent file. You will get a "Internal Program Error" message in the status bar. The error number and address seem to vary. Sometimes Notation Player will freeze.

Hi,

The Options page is not designed to be closed - it's kind of like the wallpaper for the program :) I just tested it on my machine, and nothing happens when I try to click the "X" to attempt to close that page (ie. I didn't get an error message either.) Perhaps you can try reinstalling the software to see if that clears up the error message problem.

Sherry

You have to open a file, then go back to the Options page. At that point, the File menu has a Close command that will actually close the Options page, but causes problems later on. I've updated the description above.

Hi,

Thanks for the further description - that was very helpful.

The work around until that gets fixed is to not do that :) (not close the Options page).

Sorry for any inconvenience.

ttfn,
Sherry
