Many years ago, as a teen-aged tenor sax player, I turned my back on rock and roll, and embraced jazz. My individual favorites were Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, Paul Desmond, Gerry Mulligan, and all the groups they played on. Then later, Cannonball Adderly and John Coltrane. The Count Basie bands were my first favorite for big bands, followed by the then-current Woody Herman bands and Maynard Ferguson, et al. I could not stand polkas -- that was "old people's" music.

Well, now, perhaps because I'm an "old people", or just that my musical horizon has broadened so much over the intervening years, I have found I really enjoy playing these polka duets with my wife, Cynthia.

So, here is the first of five that we've been playing for several months. The level of difficulty is a little higher than with my military duets, but if you can get them up to tempo, I think you'll really enjoy them.
