Last post on this topic I can find was in 2013. I use Photoscore to scan PDF scores to edit, transpose, etc. The midi save of the scan destroys lyrics and many notation details. Their xml output would do the trick but Composer 3 can't import xml. I really could use that capacity. Guess I assumed it would be there when I upgraded. Any plans to add xml import?

Yes, MusicXML import is our next major feature enhancement in version 3. We already have a prototype running. As of today (Jan. 2016) I cannot announce a firm date when this feature will be available but it is in the pipeline :).

HOORAY! Need a beta tester? I have lots of .not files that I could open and export as xml and then bring into Composer 3 beta.

We will get back when we will have a beta that is worth for testing. But it will still take some time (status of Jan. 2016).

A first MusicXML import package is available in alpha status qualty for the next version 3 as of Dec. 17th, 2016 . There is still some work to be done for a beta version where we will involve people who are interested. In a first release package we will not implement to complete MusicXML suite but those elements where we believe those are essential and important for "everyday musicians" :).

The feature is available since Composer 3.1.0.
