"Kokomo", written by John Phillips, Scott McKenzie, Mike Love, and Terry Melcher, became a No. 1 hit for the "Beach Boys" in 1988. It refers to a ficticious Carribean island, "just off the Florida Keys", and the lyrics make it sound like a pretty nice place to kick back.

This is a mix between a straight reduction of the popular song, plus a few of my own additions. And, at that, the reduction is kind of a mash-up of the separate vocal lines, where one pair of voices continues, and another pair of voices start a new line.

My "roadmap" is a little unorthodox, owing to the difficulty of getting ties placed at the end of a staff for a D. S. As a result, the Segno is rather oddly placed for the D. S. al Segno, but it works out correctly.

Another "something different" -- I have included the lyrics for the parts of the song that I used. If you want to see them, use the "Unhide Lyrics" feature. You will see that the lyrics are only for about the first half of the song, but for this, the music is what is important to me, and I was able to keep the Page View on two pages, which is always one of my goals for these pieces. Also note that the piece ends on beat three of measure 38 (Fine 2x). We hope you enjoy it. It is a catchy popular song.
