View Full Version : Staff lines and note stems don't print

Occasionally I end up with a piece whose last one or two measure never print correctly. In the most recent example, I arranged a melody for four voices. It looks correct on the screen. However, on printing, for the last two measures of the piece, measures 37 and 38, only the soprano part prints out correctly. In the alto, tenor, and bass parts, you see the clef signs, key signatures, lyrics, and pitches; but you do not see staff lines (so you can't figure out WHICH pitch you are supposed to sing) and you cannot see note stems. Is this a bug fixed in an existing version? I try saving, closing, and then reopening but the problem persists on the printed copy.

Hi,

Sometimes this is due to the size setting and the particular printer. The staff lines are quite thin, and if the size is set on the smallish size (eg. font size 9 or smaller), sometimes the way the printer "lines up" the horizontal "slices" of the score can cause it not to print the staff lines correctly. Please try printing it out using a slightly larger font and see if this corrects the problem. Alternatively, you can post a copy of the file, or send it to us at support@notation.com and we can take a look at it.

ttfn,
Sherry
