Cannot install Midinotate musician

Hello all, i downloaded the installer file "NotationMusician263TrialSetup" from Notation.com but when i try to install it give me an error:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could be not run."

I have Windows 7 on my PC, is this the problem?

Hi,

This may mean one of a couple of things. The installation file may have been corrupted during the download, in which case you can re-download it and try again.

The other more likely problem is that the Windows component needed for opening the package is missing on your system (this occasionally happens). If you visit the Microsoft website at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328 and download and install that package, you should then be able to successfully install the trial version of Notation Musician (and Notation Composer).

Do let us know if the above suggestions don't get you going.

Don't work again, I followed your instructions and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86), I downloaded again the installation file for Midinotate, but the problem persist.

I bought a few years ago the old version of Notation but for work issues I have not had chance to use it, now I really want to try this new version and make the purchase as soon as it works.

What can i try to do now?

Hi,

One other item - some folks run into problems if they use the "Run" option during the download rather than fully downloading the file and then running the installation.

Does this help at all?

No, i fully downloaded the installation file 3 times from notation.com, is there a mirror site where i can try to download? Or someone who can post it?

I also tried to download and install this version:

Inst_NS_Composer_3_English_Trial

But Always the same problem.

Hi,

You may have caught things in a transition time as we have been working on the downloads area of the website (please see our just posted announcement (http://www.notation.com/vb-forum/showthread.php?t=32351)).

With that in mind, please try the following:



Uninstall any of the trial versions that you have installed previously.
Delete the installation files that you downloaded (to avoid confusing the browser's download manager).
Make sure that the Visual C++ package from Microsoft is installed.
Restart your machine (to make sure the package is "sorted" properly by the operating system.)
Re-visit our download page at www.notation.com/Download.php and download the trial version(s) you want to test.
After the download is complete, double-click the installation file to start the installation.
