After I have converted a midi file to sheet music, I would like to be able to e-mail the sheet music to a non-Notation user. Is there a better way to do this than printing, scanning, and sending the scanned version?
Thanks
Susan

Hi Susan,

There are a couple of things you can do here.

1. Have your friends use the free Notation Player to view and hear (and print) your scores. The download link for that is www.notation.com/DownloadNotationPlayer.php (http://www.notation.com/DownloadNotationPlayer.php) You can just send them the .not file, and they can play it to hear it, as well as print it to have a hard copy if they want it (they won't be able to do any editing as Player is just .... a player/viewer ;) )

2. Use a "virtual printer" like PDF Creator (PDFCreator) (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/)
or Cute PDF (www.cutepdf.com (http://www.cutepdf.com), the free one) to "Print" PDF copies of the file for emailing to your friends. In this case, you would use File/Print, then select the PDF "printer" (eg. PDF Creator or CutePDF) to save a PDF file of the score.

ttfn,
Sherry

Sherry, I did the CUTE PDF option, and it does exactly what I wanted. :D Thanks for the quick reply.

I have suggested the midi player option, but don't know if they will go for that. Maybe next time I visit, I can give it a demo for them. Meanwhile, they will have the printed version to enjoy.

There is NO software I have used and felt I got my money's worth, more than my Notation Musician program. I have great fun with it.
