Hi friends,
In looking up some items for scoring a piece for our big band, I ran across "The Orchestra: A User's Manual" (http://andrewhugill.com/manuals/intro.html). It has some various search parameters (use the drop lists at the top of the page) and you can find out stuff such as instrument ranges, articulations particular to certain instruments and all sorts of fun stuff.
