The 6th beta release of MidiNotate Player (version 1.0.9.9) is available at www.notation.com/MidiNotatePlayer.htm (http://www.notation.com/MidiNotatePlayer.htm)
This beta release fixes all significant reported bugs for MidiNotate Player, except for one bug that cannot be reproduced (see below). Most importantly, this beta release fixes: Playback did not work on Windows 98. The Setup / Associate With .MID Files command sometimes did not correctly replace the Windows Multimedia Player. Double-clicking a MIDI file from Windows Explore or Internet Explorer correctly opened the MIDI file in MidiNotate Player, but then a harmless "access violation" error message was displayed.Erwin has reported a bug (http://www.notation.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=26657&post=9906#POST9906) that I cannot reproduce, that playback sometimes freezes. If you encounter this problem, please let me know. Erwin's is the only report of this problem.
There is a good chance that this is the last beta release of MidiNotate Player, and that the next release will be a final release, version 1.1. I hope so, because what would I number the next beta after 1.0.9.9?
Cheers
