Hello MidiNotate Composer and Musician Users,

Maintenance Release Version 1.1.7 of MidiNotate Composer and MidiNotate Musician has been released. If you are using one of the versions 1.1.2 to 1.1.6, you can update to version 1.1.7 quickly using a patch. If you are using a version prior to 1.1.2, you can download an entire new copy of the software. For instructions, please visit www.notation.com/ComposerUpdate.htm (http://www.notation.com/ComposerUpdate.htm) or www.notation.com/MusicianUpdate.htm (http://www.notation.com/MusicianUpdate.htm).

The fixes and improvements in version 1.1.7 are: Built-in Internet Browser. A bug was introduced in version 1.1.6 in which the built-in Internet Browser did not correctly open at the default web page www.notation.com/midifiles.htm (http://www.notation.com/midifiles.htm). Practice Option. After selecting a region with CTRL+Drag, use the new Practice Selected Region command in the Perform menu, or type CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE, to repeatedly play that section. Deleting Staff. In some unusual conditions, deleting a staff and then undoing that operation could lead to a corrupted MidiNotate .not file. Transcription. In these unusual conditions, a MIDI file might fail to open: it has a meter such as 7:16, where the numerator is not divisible by 2 or 3, and the denominator is 16 or more; and there is a note occupying the last beat of the measure; and the next measure starts with a long note. (MidiNotate incorrectly interpreted this as a grace note, and then had problems.)

Cheers
