Notation Composer 2.0 beta version 1.9.8 introduces exporting of MusicXML files. MusicXML is an industry standard file format for music notation, enabling the exchange of music scores between different music notation applications.

Composer beta release 1.9.8 is available at www.notation.com/MidiNotateBetaRelease.htm (http://www.notation.com/MidiNotateBetaRelease.htm)

You can use Notation Composer 2.0 to conveniently compose music, record your MIDI performances, or transcribe MIDI files to sheet music. You can also easily annotate the score with Notation Composer 2.0. Then, if you want to polish the score for professional publication quality printing, you can export the score as a MusicXML file, and import it into your favorite high-end notation program, such as Finale or Sibelius.

We believe you find MidiNotate Composer 2.0 to be the fastest and most enjoyable tool for creating music. However, we acknowledge that Finale and Sibelius are excellent for polishing scores. MidiNotate Composer 2.0's MusicXML Export feature now allows you to take advantages of the respective strengths of MidiNotate Composer and other high-end notation programs that import MusicXML files.

For a complete list of notation programs that can import MusicXML files exported by MidiNotate Composer 2.0, see http://recordare.com/software.html

For tips on using the MusicXML Export feature, please see the new MusicXML Export sub-section of the Composer 2.0 Beta Release section of this forum.
