Hello everyone, I've bought Composer recently, but I didn't test it well before and now I encountered serious trouble. I wanted to use composer with Garritan personal orchestra (Kontakt player) and connect them with virtual midi cable. But it's not working at all! I've used following configurations: Composer midi Output to Maple Midi cable and then to Kontakt player Input. result: Composer hung immediately, but it was still working (CPU using about 90%) because I tried to close it (alt+f4) a window "save before quit" appeared. When I clicked "no" CPU using went back to 90% and Composer didn't respond again. Similar story when I used with Midi Yoke. I've got only this message: Description: A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: AppHangB1 Application Name: Composer.exe Application Version: 2.5.2.0 Application Timestamp: 48a73cd5 Hang Signature: 2694 Hang Type: 0 OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1045 Additional Hang Signature 1: 29869aaae492207fb97103fc4551ae89 Additional Hang Signature 2: 00ad Additional Hang Signature 3: 56727bb2aebe87f6b5d793ed3ddc1fc3 Additional Hang Signature 4: 2694 Additional Hang Signature 5: 29869aaae492207fb97103fc4551ae89 Additional Hang Signature 6: 00ad Additional Hang Signature 7: 56727bb2aebe87f6b5d793ed3ddc1fc3 I use dell laptop vostro 1700 with internal music card, windows vista, 2gb ram, intel core2duo 2 ghz, however this configuration (maple midi cable+Kontakt player) has worked with NoteWorthyComposer and Finale Print Music perfectly. any ideas ??? peter. |

Hi Peter, Make sure, you do not have any midi feedback. Disable all INs of your midi cable in Composer. Best wishes, Herbert |

Hi Herbert, I'm still trying to fix it, I downloaded another virtual midi cable called "LoopBe" and it shows me interesting information (about midi feedback) please take a look at below picture: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2294/bugxoc.jpg you can see my config (all inputs are off) and is still not working. (see right bottom corner - small window from LoopBe midi cable) |

Hi, Piotr: Composer should work very well with Garritan Personal Orchestra and I use MapleMidi myself with no problems. Be sure that you have Garritan running prior to opening Composer, otherwise you can run into a conflict as both your virtual instrument and Composer try to use the same midi port. If your virtual instrument is already running, then Composer will skip the input port that it is using. Good luck. David |

Hi Peter, It is good to see that you are progressing. I don’t understand why you still get midi feedback from time to time. Best wishes, Herbert |
