Notation Composer 2.0 has been implemented to support the last version 1.1 of the MusicXML file format. MakeMusic's Finale 2006 supports MusicXML version 1.1, whereas earlier versions of Finale support only 1.0. This means that in versions of Finale prior to Finale 2006, some notation details in the Notation Composer will not be carried over to Finale. Earlier versions, or perhaps even the current version, of other notation programs may similarly support only MusicXML version 1.0 rather than 1.1.

The following is a list of known issues or problems with the MusicXML Export feature Notation Composer 2.0 beta version 1.8:
  1. Mixed text that includes a music symbol and normal text, such as a tempo mark (d=120), display a number for the music symbol rather than the symbol itself.
  2. Page headers and footers are not exported.
  3. Noteheads and rests are incorrectly displayed below a 1-line drum staff by Recordare's Dolet with Finale. This problem will be fixed in a future version of Dolet.
  4. Pedal marks may not perform correctly, or may be stuck during playback.

If you find other problems with Composer's MusicXML Export feature, please report them here.

Cheers
