I think it is a little irresponsible to require full names to join the forum and then to display the full names on every post. I realise that there is an anonymous option and that notation.com is hardly a hotspot for predators and that full names encourage responsible posting, but the Internet is still a dangerous place. Maybe there should be an alternative for Notation enthusiasts under the age of 13, or at least a disclaimer.

Hello MK,

It's not necessary to register to participate in this forum. You can add a post using any alias name you want. However, it's a good idea to choose an alias name you'll remember so that when you come back to the forum, you can do a Search to call back posts that you added using your alias name.

The main reason for registering in the forum is to receive email notifications of replies to your posts, or for sections of the forum you're interested in monitoring. When you register, you have the option of supplying your email address for such notification purposes, but can choose another option to hide your email address from the public.

Cheers
-- Mark
