Here's how to add a quote like this one:

quote:

MidiNotate Composer is the best thing since sliced bread.

Type this:

\quote{MidiNotate Composer is the best thing since sliced bread.}

Cheers

Hi, I have MS and cannot write musical notation for piano. I have been playing for nearly 40 years and have quite a lot of music I would like to notate before I am unable to play very well. I have a Mac G3 and a Yamaha Claviona with midi capability. Could you tell me if this sortware would be suitable for my require ments. Anyone in Bristol UK able to help?

Hello Garth,

Sorry, but MidiNotate runs only on PCs/Windows, not on Macs.

Sincerely,
Mark

Howdy Garth,

If you are able to run cross-platform in Windows 98 or above, you could possibly use Composer. I'm a bit skeptical that you can do it with a G3 (I've only seen where it can run a virtual PC in Win95), but I'm not a Mac afficiando :-)

If you have this capability, you might want to try out the trial version of Composer to see if it will work. You can download it at http://www.notation.com/Download.htm

ttfn,
Sherry

Hi, I tell I lie, apparently it's a G4, and has a windows platform on it, (what do I know?) as you can probably tell I'm a bit technically retarded (being 47), I did look into hiring a proffesional pianist to do the transcriptios but they all wanted £50+ an hour! Beyond my pocket.
Thanks for advice.
Cheers
Garth

Howdy Garth,

Then that's great news! You should definitely give Composer a try, then.

I hope you can get your music notated. I know I've found this software to be an answer for me, as I have no formal training at all, but Composer has helped me to notate songs that I've written through the years for my family and for church, that I'd never have gotten done otherwise.

ttfn,
Sherry
