Hello Mark

When someone post a message, the posters name is shown in the homepage. From the moment on, when there is a reply, the original posters name changes in the last posters name and when you don't remember where you did your posting it's very hard to find it back.
That's what happened with my "Edit Meter" post.

Isn't it possible to create roll open menu with all the forums inside in a list so we can choose one and do our post.

Than create a "Last Post" or "Recent Post" item, where you can find the subject and the posters name. If someone wants to reply, he or she clicks on the subjects title and goes directly to that post. When there is a new post on the same subject, it appears in the homepage with the subjects title and the new poster's name.

In this way you can see immediatly when there is a new item and if there is any reply on your post. Let's say that after 20 or 30 post items the original goes into a list, so visitors can see about which item there was a post and can even reply on it. After a few months you can close those old items and put them in a list of "Closed Post" . In this list you are unable to reply a post, if you like to answer you have to open a new thread.

Staff problem Vinnie 1
Edit Meter Erwin 2
Ins Def File Mike 8

So if someone has a problem for example with Ins. def., he certainly can find some answers here, already 8 persons give there comment. If he don't find a proper answer he can always reply ( in Hot Topic list only) and his post appears in the "Recent Post"

I hope this was helpfull.

Cheers
Erwin

Erwin,

There are two features of the forum that might already address your needs.

To find all of the threads that you have participate in, click 'Search' at the top of the forum. In the Search window:
  • Set a checkmark by Search by Keyword.
  • Enter your name 'Erwin' in the 'Search for' field.
  • For 'Look in', choose 'Names of authors'.
  • Click the Perform Search button.
I just did this for 'Erwin' and found that you have participated in four threads. Participation in four threads underestimates how active you've been! That's because you've lumped all of your postings in one big thread :-)
NOTE to others reading this posting:
You do not have register in the forum to take advantage of the above feature. Just use any fairly unique user ID that you want. For example, I use 'markwa' instead of just 'mark' as my user id.

The other forum feature you might find useful is this: click the Tree View link at the top of the forum.

Cheers
-- Mark

Hi, Mary

The metronome stuff is under the Perform/Metronome/Setup menu. You'll get a dialogue box with check boxes to select metronome specs.

You can turn it on and off manually with the Perform/Metronome On selection or by typing Ctrl-M or "qmet".

If you delve a little deeper into this forum, you'll find lots of helpful stuff.

Good luck.

David

Howdy Mary Gail,

Composer gives you the option to have the metronome on (or off) during recording and/or playback. That option is found in Perform/Metronome Setup.

The metronome toggle button on the menu bar overrides that at any time, though. So does the "qmet" (q for quick) shortcut that David alluded to above. You just type the letters (you can see them at the very bottom center of the Status Bar at the bottom of your Composer screen) and you can watch the metronome button on the menu bar toggle on and off.

ttfn,
Sherry
