I tried immediately to backup the MIDINOTATE download and it failed. The error message said could not copy "DATA3.CAB". The first disk did copy many MIDINOTATE files. The second disk only had DATA2.CAB. Corrupt files?

(Mark Walsen later replied, "It turns out that this MidiNotate Backup Utility is more trouble than its worth. I suggest that you use Winzip or some utility that is capable of archiving a relatively large (3+MB) file...MidiNotate409Setup.exe.")

Hi, Don

That's right. I will be removing the MidiNotate Backup Utility from the next version of MidiNotate. There really is no need for this troublesome utility, then there are so many good archiving programs like WinZip.

If you have a Zip drive or CD-write drive, then you don't even need to use a backup utility such as WinZip. Instead, just copy the file MidiNotate409Setup.exe to your zip or CD disk.

If you only have a floppy drive, then WinZip will split up the multiple megabyte MidiNotate409Setup.exe file onto 3 or 4 floppies.

Cheers
