Notation Software, Inc. was founded
in July, 1994, by Mark Walsen, who has strong backgrounds in both software
development and music. Mark Walsen has devoted full-time effort to developing
music software since the company's founding.
Mark Walsen has more than 30 years of software
development and project management experience. He served Microsoft for
5-1/2 years as program manager for the Windows 3.0 Software Development
Kit (SDK) and the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) for C++, versions
1.0 through 2.5.
Mark Walsen's music background includes
formal study of music composition at the North Carolina School of Arts
under composer and chancellor Robert Ward, and 40 years of experience
composing music.
