Mark, Looks like an old problem we had quite some time ago. I wanted to change a few things on a notation file, which is last saved at 11/5/2006 (according to file attributes) When I open this file (013 walspotporie.not) in Composer 2.1.2 and save it under new name (no difference wether I made changes or not) I can not re-open this file (013 walspotporie test.not). I get following error message:
Is there a way to solve this, otherwise I have to make the notation completely. I have more older files but not yet tested for this problem but will report later on it. Cheers Jaap

Mark. I did tests with several notation files, which were saved at the same date, these luckily don't show the above error. As a workaround I made a copy of all staves and measures into a new notation file, saved this one, closed and re-opened the file. Works fine. With a little editing now I have back the complete notation. Cheers Jaap |

Hello Jaap, That's good that you were able to work around this unexplained .not file format problem. The 11/5/2006 date of the file was shortly after the release of Notation Composer 2.0. Perhaps this file was left in a bad format by a beta release of Composer 2.0. Cheers -- Mark |

Mark, That also later crossed my mind. I think you don't need to investigate this any further, because of this single file that caused this trouble, and is restored already. Cheers Jaap |
