Hi Mark,
There is a html problem with your 'documentation page' at:
http://www.notation.com/Documentation.php?parentTopic=Support

If you try to download the PDF versions (either for Musician or Composer) then if your cursor is over the right side text:- 'User Guide in PDF format' the it downloads the 'exe' file, not the PDF file.

The Lefthand side of the text, and the download image points to the PDF file.

This 'split personality' can be seen by dragging the mouse over the text and view the URL in the bottom left of the screen.

Cheers ... Clyde

Hi Mark,
I'm just having a read through the User manual, and notice on the 1st page at:
mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Notation\Composer\Composer.chm::/introduction_1.htm

or page 12 in the PDF version

there is in the yellow boxed area the following text:
<%otherroduct%>

PDF-page12

Cheers ... Clyde

Hi Mark,
In the yellow box, on the same page above is a hyperlink to the 'Notation Users Community Forum'

This link points to a 'page not found'

Howdy Clyde,

Thanks for reporting the "split personality" link. It's fixed now.

Mark will have to fix the other ones you've pointed out. Thanks for the reports!

ttfn,
Sherry

Hello Clyde,

The http://www.notation.com/Documentation.php?parentTopic=Support offers the documentation in three forms: (1) on-screen help in .chm file format, (2) PDF for printing, (3) pre-printed. There was a technical problem with (3). I've fixed that so the links for the pre-printed User Guides now go correctly to the inventory item at lulu.com. There was also a usability program with (1), because the user might not be expecting to download a setup program. I've now made it clear in that option that the download is for a setup program that installs the Users Guide, rather than a direct download of the .chm file itself.

I've made note of the other two problems you reported in separate posts above.

Thanks for these reports.

Cheers

Hi Mark,
I looked at the corrected 'documentation' page and can see how you have fixed the PDF file problem that I reported above.

However, I'm a little perplexed about the pre-printed manual, as that link now points to 'http://www.notation.com/download/NotationMusician20UserGuideSetup.exe

whereas you indicated you had changed this to www.lulu.com.

I just did a refresh, and noticed that the pre-printed manual links are now suffering from a 'split personality'.

Cheers ... Clyde

Hello Clyde,

Please try again. There was a temporary problem with the fix.

Hi Mark,
Not too sure if I'm having trouble with browser temporary files, but I have done a few refreshes and seem to now get the following results:

(a) On screen reference guide - OK
(b) Download PDF files - split personality
(c) Pre-printed - OK - pointing to Lulu

(Incidentally, I always think it is better when linking to a page on another web site (in this case Lulu.com) to open it in a separate window, so the user does not leave your site).

Cheers ... Clyde

Hi Mark,
I had another look today to see if things had come right.

All the text links are now fine. However, I noticed that the bottom graphic for the pre-printed book (for Composer) links to the PDF file.

The graphic for musician does not link to anything.
